Vision & problem statement

KOSH is driven to make greenhouses more circular, by replacing plastic used as strings, clips, clamps, short support poles and ideally pots as well, using biobased materials. We aim to use plant residues from the greenhouse, transform them into usable forms and bring them back to the greenhouse .This has an additional benefit in micro-plastic free compost production.

Our solution

We are looking at developing alternate water-proof materials that can be moulded to the required shapes to suit the greenhouse requirements. We want to work towards generating these products from residual plant fibers that would otherwise just go waste. When these fall off into the pots, we envision them to be biodegradable and be a part of compost. This would eventually contribute to reducing plastic in greenhouses.

About the team

Hi! We are a team of enthusiastic students, with diverse academic backgrounds ranging from plant science to computer science. We all have a shared vision to make this world more sustainable. We see greenhouses (food production hubs) as our starting point to make this transition.
