Vision & problem statement
We see this project as an opportunity to approach a problem that concerns us directly so we can propose feasible solutions in relation to food and waste. That's why we want to focus on the organic waste that is produced in the community of the Universidad de los Andes and its closest surroundings, proposing solutions to the problem of unprofitable disposal of this waste that negatively impacts both the community and the environment.
Our solution
Our solution is born from an investigation on the causes of the non-profitable disposal of organic waste, taking advantage of all the existing usable material and redirecting it through biomaterials to continue its life cycle favoring the community that generates them.
About the team
AgroLab is a multidisciplinary studio in which our team, through design, architecture, engineering, biology and social sciences, seeks to approach different problems to develop and implement solutions. Our studio focuses mainly on the study of food as a complex system that involves the culture in society, the crafts of the land and the generation of life and energy.
