Vision & problem statement
Reducing waste, by focusing on a specific waste stream and exploring the source and its supply chain to see if reducing, recovering or recycling strategies can be applied.
Our solution
Our idea is to use fruit peel waste streams and see what we can do with them. It is an opportunity because of combining a reduction in food waste with and create a valuable and more sustainable alternative for existing products like synthesized leather, clothes, or decoratives.
About the team
Our group consists of 4 master students with all different backgrounds. Our expertise varies from, circular economy, biomass production, life cycle assessment, and bioinformatics Our drive: We want to slow down resource depletion and climate change so the earth will support a good quality of living for future generations.
